What is it?
Music Breathing is a short-term therapy lasting 8 to 10 sessions and is an adaptation of the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music developed for people with traumatic stress, where there is a dysregulation of the Autonomic Nervous System.
What happens in a session?
The sessions which are one-to-one, last 1hr and are spaced weekly.
The client initially learns the skills of meditative Breathing and of Integrating Music Listening into a meditative state during the sessions. Between the sessions, the client is encouraged to practise the method at home, and in the process learns to mobilize resources and manage trauma-related imagery on an everyday basis.
